Privacy policy
Dopomo is a mobile app for saving ideas and recipes you find online and deciding what to do with them. This page explains what the app collects, why, where it is kept, and how to remove it. Dopomo is built and operated by a small team based in the Netherlands.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and a password. The password is stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text.
- Content you save. Links, photos, notes, collections, groups, journal entries and trackers you create in the app. Photos you attach are uploaded to our storage.
- Link metadata. When you share a link, our servers fetch the public page to read its title, description, image and, for recipes, the ingredients and steps.
- Preferences. Settings such as your language and the answers you give during onboarding, so the app can suggest relevant ideas.
- Technical logs. Server logs with request times, error messages and IP addresses, kept to run and debug the service.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, store what you save, and show it back to you on your devices.
- To process what you save. Text and images you add are sent to an AI model (Google Gemini on Google Cloud Vertex AI) to extract titles, ingredients, steps and tags, and to generate suggestions. This content is not used to train models.
- To share with people you choose. Content in a group is visible to the members of that group. A share link you create is visible to anyone who has the link.
- To answer your support requests.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
Where it is stored
Data is stored on Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium region). Uploaded photos are kept in a private storage bucket. Access is limited to the people who operate the service.
Third parties
- Google Cloud hosts our servers, storage and the AI model that processes your content.
- Source platforms. When you share a link from a platform such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest, our server contacts that platform to read the public page. Their own privacy policies apply to that request.
Retention and deletion
You can delete any saved item, collection or group from inside the app. It is removed from our servers when you do.
To delete your account and everything in it, email hello@dopomo.app from the address you signed up with. We delete the account and its content within 30 days. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Children
Dopomo is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
